I have so much to say and not nearly enough energy to say it all. And, as a disclaimer, for those of you who I told to check this blog for constant updates, I've found I probably won't be blogging as often as I originally thought. But, Definitely check out the team blog, because I feel like at least one person will be blogging on most nights.
So everything has been so great. I love everyone on the team, and the rides thus far have been unbelievable gorgeous. First of all, it is SO great to be able to go on a ride and stop without having to turn around and go all the way back the way I came. Also, riding along the coast is so beautiful. The first day was great because we rode down along practically the entire Orange County coast. So I got to take a tour of my home beaches by bike, which was a totally new and amazingly wonderful experience.
Tomorrow we'll be leaving the cool west coast for the Sierra Nevada's and desert. It will be our longest day yet, our hardest climbs yet, and our hottest weather yet. Prayers would be greatly appreciated!
One awesome surprise from today was getting to see my sister, Becky! She came up to the send off at Long Beach with my mom, and I thought that was the last I would get to see of both of them for the summer. But today, as we biked down to San Diego, I noticed that we were riding on Third Street, which is one of the major streets that runs by Becky's office. I gave her a call, but turns out we were still a ways from the office, so I gave up on the idea of seeing her and headed to our final destination.
From our end destination we were shuttled to our host homes by our awesome host, Lisa. On the way over, I noticed we were once again on Third Street, so I kept my eyes peeled for the right cross street. Turns out Lisa lives a whopping one block away from Becky's office! It was crazy. So I got to see where my super cool big sis works and meet her super nice co-workers. Crazy, yeah?
