So, I dunno how I got away with not writing or blogging this by now, but things like this pop into your mind when you're just chillin in a hotel room away from home. So here it goes.
I recently went to the paradise that is Hawaii, and even though the travel there can put most in a state of depression/insanity, you soon come to the realization that sometimes you must go through hell to get to Heaven. Mainly because of the non-ergonomically form fitting seats and the inability to scale three larger individuals from the window seat to use the bathroom. I hate asking people to get up. Ok, sorry, here comes the body of the story...
So I get cozy in my window seat and trying to prepare my body and mind for the position that will hold me for the next 5 hours, I see an interesting older gentlemen approaching the seat that is next to me. Let me preface this with what he was wearing: Black stocking cap filled with various debris, pretty cool retro vest, green thick laced tie, brown cargo's. He interests me, so I immediately make friends with him and for the sake of the story I'll call him, Pete. Come to find out he is an English professor at Penn State. We ended up talking the whole 5 hours, and the depths and richness of his stories you can imagine, being so grammatically and phonetically trained.
Anyways, we talk about a myriad of things, his bout in existentialism, his "gardening days", how he found the lord, our personal stories, family, friends, dating even, hah, and this is the part that I had to share with everyone....if you're still with me, sorry it's late and I'm bored so I'm writing, woohoooo!
In the words of Pete (I paraphrase a bit), "I predict you will meet your wife in May or June." I kid you not, he "predicted" that.....I've got a good kick out this for quite some time now.
So, funny story. No worries ladies, my intentions for the trip are sincere, and I'm not doing this to find a wife but then again, you never know......so, the question posed is, Will you marry me?
hah, good times, had to share that. In other news, I got to pump out a solid 50 miles on the stationary on Saturday....look forward to much much more of that!!!!!
Cheers!
