We got to go the the Dbacks game in Phoenix on Tuesday. In fact, not only did we get tickets, but we watched the game from the Chairman's Suite. And, Texas lost, putting the Angels in first place in the AL West, hurray!!!

I cramped up pretty bad on the road earlier this week. I volunteered for sweep duty, and I think the combination of stopping every couple minutes for people, the 110 degree heat and the 102980127310489 ft of climbing lead to my jersey being covered in a layer of salt. I tried as hard as I could, but my legs would physically not straighten out anymore with about 8-10 miles to go. I had to spend the next day in the van recovering. So, alas, I will not be making the trip entirely under the power of my own two legs. . . sad day.

Can't wait to get to Dallas in a week and a half for our next short break. Little bit of climbing in the next couple days to get out of New Mexico. Can't wait to get back to the flat lands again.

I know you're disappointed that you didn't do each and every mile of the trip, but you need to listen to the demands of your body. Sometimes we don't know why obstacles are put in our path, but you know I believe everything happens for a reason. We can't always figure out what it is, but God knows! He kept you off the road for a reason. You are back now, so enjoy! I hope today's climb goes better for you! I LOVE your new picture by the way!

I heard that was a really tough section of the trip- If you had to give up a day because you helped others, waited and consoled them, then instead of thinking about what you missed out on, remember the good you did- Sweep can be tough, not going at your own pace- so thank you for volunteering and we continue to think each and everyone of you are awesome-
