I have to apologize for not getting a blog entry out in a while, BUT the last two weeks of the tour were filled with long days and we didn't have internet very often. We arrived in Seattle on July 9th and I started work again on the 13th. I could probably write a couple of blog posts on how the transition from "awesome life" to "normal life" has been, but I'll finish up this top 10 list first. The last two things I wrote about, community and being active in God's creation everyday kind of dwarf some of the other things on the list, but these two have been on my mind quite pretty often over the past week
Here is what my diet looked like during the ride:
Breakfast - Bowl of cereal and a banana
Lunch - PB&J or turkey sandwich and fruit
Dinner - Pasta
But most of my calorie intake came from a never ending smorgasbord of cookies, gummy fruit snacks, candy bars, donuts, fast food goodness, and ice cream
Since getting back home I've eaten some of the same meals but I miss all of the yummy goodness that filled up the rest of my day
I didn't bring a computer on the tour, but we had a couple of people on the team who did they got passed around a bit so others could use them. Other than when I sat down to write a blog post I probably used a computer for 15 minutes every two or three days and it was awesome. I didn't have time to check everything that was happening on facebook and it forced me to filter out emails that weren't really important. Most of all I didn't have the opportunity to mindlessly wander the internet watching Old Gregg and Powerthirst videos or catching up on all the latest movie trailers. During the ride I decided I needed to try to keep up that habit after going back home. It's a bit hard to not sit in front of a computer all day when your job is to sit in front of a computer all day, but I figured whenever I wasn't at the office I should avoid computers like the plague. I'm not as strict about it as I had hoped, but it has been good to spend more time reading, journaling and being outside as opposed to staring at a glowing screen. And the weather in Seattle is amazing right now so I'm just going to publish this without proofreading it and get outside =)
