My words are not/will not be for eloquence’s sake or solely to evoke emotional response. I cannot boast of any skill or talent. I am writing (even though I don’t want to) … and will write through the summer so that I can process, understand, grow and share.

*L.A. is beautiful—the people, the houses, the beaches, the water, the colors, the flora.
I want to live here.
*this trip is full of extremes: extreme highs, difficulties, joys, disappointments. and full of emotions that can change within a matter of minutes--based on terrain, surroundings, people, traffic, weather. ....
*Things I smelled today:
sunscreen
the ocean
nectarine
smoke—all sorts
wild rosemary

BETHANY, YOU ARE ALWAYS SUCH AN AWESOME WRITER. I LOVED READING YOUR "THOUGHTS" AND READING THROUGH THE LIST OF SMELLS. I GUESS YOU ARE GETTING SOME SLEEP ABOUT NOW - IT'S MID-DAY IN SEOUL ON MONDAY. I KNOW THE SARA GROVES CONCERT MUST HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL. I'M PRAYING FOR YOU AND I LOVE YOU TONS!!!

and actually....i take that back. i wouldn't wish this heat on either of you.
it's pretty miserable. ...and there's nothing in the desert. just sand and sparse shrubbery. :)
