Something Good

This thing is pretty great. It feels good to be a part of something good. We are just ordinary people. But God is using us in not so ordinary ways because he can do that. We’re just people trying to know God more and look to him and wanting to love people and be a small part of ushering in his kingdom. Default mode is to be concerned about ourselves, but slowly and surely, our God is holding our hands and taking us on this journey of transformation and worship. I’m just trying to follow.

Phoenix is also pretty great. Desert Springs Church and some amazing families and individuals there have taken us in for a few days and treated us so well. We are blown away to see all of the support. When we rode our bikes in Saturday, they greeted us with ice cold wet rags…so amazing! Then some guys and girls in the youth group polished our bikes! It’s insane. Last night Sara Groves came for a benefit concert. Aaron and some of the team talked about the tour, Matt shared about Blood:Water, and Sara brought encouragement and thoughtfulness and inspiration through music. It was a seriously wonderful night. And the ending was fantastic…the announcement that over $30,000 dollars had been given that we get to pass on to our friends in Marsabit, Kenya.

We’ve got a couple more days of rest here before hitting the road again, and we’re definitely relishing the rest. And making more memories and laughing and eating some seriously great food!
