oh man. we are having a goood ol time on this tour. we have been so blessed since we began in sunny san diego. despite facing long hills, steep climbs, headwinds, sidewinds, semi's passing quickly by, no shoulder, flat tires, defective wheels, food allergies, emotional ups and downs, tummy aches and dizziness, we are rockin it.
today we rode 37 miles into Cambria, ca and it was such a nice ride. it's been so cold which is really different for me being used to biking in such hot weather. i think i prefer it, but with it comes headwinds. headwinds are the worst. but, we have been getting real good at drafting. after we rode in, i got to visit with my old pastor, randy ponder, who i had not seen in 2 and a half years. it was so encouraging for me. and we got to spend some good time as a team riding in the van to see hearst castle and the elephant seals. then we cooked "brinner".. breakfast for dinner and sang whatever songs we could think of pretty dang loud.
this team has come together so well, and i feel like i am noticing not only why i needed to meet these people, but also why they needed to meet each other. the idea of community is so huge in all of our hearts and we are all growing so much from it already. we havent even been together 2 weeks yet, and it feels like a family.
we have been so blessed by the churches we have connected with. just getting to know people with kindred spirits, with hearts passionate about active love, like ours. it is so beautiful to see God working through His body. the body coming together to take care of and support one another amazes me everyday. i am so grateful to be a part of this team, and to learn more about people, community, and myself through this experience. God is before this, and we can see Him at work. thank you for being a part of it.
