Hey Ride:Well Bloggers,
I am sooooo blessed, excited, honored, nervous and in complete awe to be a part of Ride:Well Tour this summer. I want to start out by telling you how I first heard about Ride:Well. Last summer, my older sister Kristina was moving out of her dorm and into an apartment and she needed some things from home. So my parents, two younger siblings, and I packed up our van full of her belongings and headed south to SAGU (her school) from Chicago.
I was planning to visit my sister months before this short weekend in July, but it just never worked out. After the 24 hour drive we finally made it into Waxahachie, Texas. My sister worked as an admissions counselor for Oaks School of Leadership . So she showed me around the buildings, the SAGU campus, her job, and finally her church, The Oaks.
I remember standing in the lobby and seeing a group of bikers standing around in their bikers shorts and Ride:Well jerseys. I didn't think too much of it until i started to see EVERYONE wearing a Ride:Well t-shirt.
My sister and and I went to the college service that night and the Ride:Well team spoke. My heart was forever changed. As I sat through the service and heard the riders speak, I felt a God pull at my heart telling me that I was going to do that. After the service I talked to someone on the team. I became more and more curious.
My heart is for missions, especially Africa. So It just seemed like God opened the door for this in my life. So since that thursday night in July of 2009 I have been praying and fasting about the Ride:Well tour. And when the time came to apply, I applied, I was accepted and here I am.
I am excited for what God has in store for myself and the team this summer.
:D K8.
