Life on the road.... lets just say it has been pretty amazing, terrifying, full of blessings, and best enjoyed when taken one day at a time.
Its really hard to figure out where to start this blog... there are so many things I want to say and things that God is doing in my life right now...
I guess I will start with the past day and a half.
On June 12th we started in Solvang and it was a 70 mile day to San Luis Obispo.
I was doing great and hanging with Heather, Erin and Dan as we reached 26 mph on a flat road... we were keeping a great pace and when we were about 10 miles out from lunch we stopped to go to the restroom and all I had in my jersey was a peanut granola bar (i was hesitant to eat it but it was all I had and I was running low on energy) so I scarfed it down and continued to ride. A few miles later my stomach began to hurt but I knew I had to push threw and make it to lunch. I finally made it to lunch after facing HUGE head wind and stomach pains and I scarfed down a sandwich and wheat thins thinking it would help my hunger pains. I soon realized that they weren't hunger pains but that I was having an allergic reaction to the peanut granola bar. The pains in my stomach began to intensify as time passed and I soon realized and so did my teammates that I needed to seek medical attention. So everyone grabbed fresh water and granola bars needed for the next 25 miles. Soon after, Cody and I took off to the nearest ER as my stomach continued to cramp up, causing crippling pain. We finally made it to the ER and by this time my stomach was hurting more than ever and my face and hands were numb. To make a long story short.... I made it to the ER fine, got the medical attention needed, got my 1st IV in me, got fluids pumped into me and got to take a nap... I also got a few laughs in thanks to Cody.
So enough Drama!
NOW for the BIGGEST BLESSING OF ALL!!!
Today at the church in San Luis Obispo a man came up to me at the merch table and asked if I was the girl that needed clips and shoes and I told him yeah thats me and he said well I would like to take care of that for you and I was in shock, I had no idea what to say but to smile in disbelief... that this was really happening.
This happening to me just reminded me of a prayer Shannon and I said about how God will provide shoes and clips for me and that she would get to see a dolphin... BOTH came true! Big and small God takes care of his people... he meets our needs and sometimes even the silly needs like seeing a dolphin... God knows how to speak to his children and reveal himself and show us that he is in control of it all and he has us.
I am so excited to see how God continues to reveal himself to me as well as my teammates.
We are only a week in to this trip and amazing things are happening... everyone has made it each mile (minus my medical visit), our team is so close, we are being blessed by the people in these churches, and we are learning so much about what it means to let God take captive of our minds, our lives and our souls.
