Its not the size of the dog, but how easily that dog can get stuck in your spokes

Dogs either love me a ton, or they hate me a ton...I can't decide which. I am however, sure of one thing, dogs are most definitely attracted to the glistening of my bike swooshing through the farm country of Ohio, where fences don't make good neighbors. I have been chased three times this month, by giant dogs with fangs the size of saber-tooth tigers. On my most recent attack, a dog sprinted at me and I squirted it with my water bottle, and it got scared and ran back home. Thank you, man at the Trek store, who gave me that advice.

Definitely the best thing you can do with an attacking dog. I was out one time and went a little too far/hard and bonked and could barely keep peddling. I was 3 miles from home when this rottweiler got loose and decided it wanted to play tag. I sprinted off as best I could, but it hurt sooooo bad. And it was scary.

On another note, I almost ran over a snake today. That was scary

i get chased by dogs ALOT too!

one time erin and i were chased by a pack of dogs....about 7 of them. huge ones.

& the man at our bike store gave us the same advice--squirt with water bottle. Or he said to kick them.
or erin has this spray that she buys to spray at the dogs when they get too close....
but she had gone through two bottles already so she isn't buying anymore.
:)
