The above video was produced by a church, a group of individuals not only concerned about the global water crisis, but empowered to help it become extinct.
Did you know that just one dollar provides water for one person in Africa for a whole year?
That means the money I spend on satisfying my "thirst"---the $1.29 for a Pepsi I enjoy for 15 minutes, the $2.49 for a mocha that might last a little longer, the $3.50 for a post-workout protein shake gulped down in 110 seconds--the money from each of these nonessential beverages could be used so much more effectively.
That money could be used to supply clean water to someone else--someone who is sick because of dirty water--for one, two, three, or, when combined, over seven years!
I spend seven dollars like it is nothing, but it could be a literal lifesaver for someone in Africa. People need to realize that they can make a difference. We can eradicate poverty. Change is in our pockets. Let's put it to good use!
