Even though Bethany and I began our training journey pretty far behind some of our teammates, I feel like we are improving really quickly! Out mileage and mph are increasing in pretty big intervals. It seems like not long ago that we had our first ride together of only about ten miles. Two days ago we rode 40 :o) It was such a fantastic ride! First of all, the majority of the route was brand new to us...which is sometimes can make me a little nervous because you don't know what kinds of roadblocks you'll come up against...but this time, we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful surprise! It was probably the best route ever! Rolling hills, trees forming a canopy over the road, horses, families drinking tea on their porches, and kids playing in the yards shouting hello as we rode by. I can't wait to do it again. Unfortunately, the weather channel is forecasting rain and storms for the next 10 days. Oh well, hopefully it'll let up enough for us to get in some good rides.

But the route wasn't the only great part of the ride. I wish we had a video of us toward the end of the ride. I think it's fair to say that we absolutely know the meaning of endorphins now! We were so histerically rediculous...making up random songs and laughing so loudly!

Probably the only bad thing about the ride was realizing how much the saddle hurts after a long ride...guess that's something I need to know and get used to before the summer!

I guess that's enough for now. If anyone wants to keep us in your prayers, we would love it if you would pray for favorable weather as well as our continued fundraising efforts.

endorphins are one of the things i miss the most about the tour, and the ridiculousness that comes along with them. this ride sounds awesome. i love that you have each other to train with and just to prepare with. im very excited for you both. =]

That's awesome! I'm a little jealous, though....My rides mostly consist of bare corn fields and these little nat flies that hover in swarms over the road....Tea on porches sounds like a lot of fun! Keep up the GREAT work!

Yeah the weather here in Illinois is not the greatest either, it's been raining all day but it looks like it's stopping so we'll see...40 miles is a good ride, that's the furthest I've done so far and we've still got over a month to work up to 75.
