About Me:
I rode on Ride:Well '08. This land we call America is big, beautiful, strange, full of mountains, wind, sunshine, good people, crazy people, and wires. It was the best experience of my life by a very, very, very wide margin.

I want to bike around the world one day. You should come, too.

The only reason I am not going this summer is because I am working at a camp that takes teenagers on adventures all over the world, ya-hoo!

Fundraising Tips for all the New Riders!

The little lovely Anne Taylor (RWT Class of '10: Pacific Route) sent me a message asking for some fundraising ideas. I went a bit overboard and sent this as a response. I figured I could share it with everyone:

Anyways, I definitely have a few fundraising ideas. First, I got another job (serving at Chili's) and picked up absolutely as many shifts as I could; I paid about $700 of the fundraising money myself.

Reflections on a bike ride... Just a tad bit late.

(I wrote this in August 2008. I just now found it on my computer.)

Life is always so much more than we expect it to be; of this, I am completely sure. I did not expect to be riding my bicycle three thousand, one hundred miles across the United States this summer. And when I did finally myself on the phone with my mother, over lunch with my best friend Tranica, and updating my Facebook profile with that incredible announcement, something inside of me twinged in disbelief: "Really, Jess? You actu… Continue

To the Batmobile- LET'S GO!

The past few weeks have proved incredibly encouraging and I have nothing but more and more excitement about leaving for this trip. I know my legs, and my butt, and my body, and everything else, are going to be incredibly sore, but I truly, idealistically, and wonderfully believe that this trip is going to be incredibly glorious. You. Me. A Bike. A cornfield. Jesus. What could be better? I, too, am excited about falling in love with Jesus and with everyone else on this trip. Holy. Cow.

A few wee… Continue

Thanks Jessica... I appreciate the note. And I read your last blog that summarized your trip and talked about the crazypainfulstormymountain day. Really great stories. Encouraging. Glad you took the time to articulate those things.

Peace,

It was awesome to have the team in Little Rock today and to meet you. Thank you for helping us to think outside of our own little world and to be inspired to try things we never dreamed we could do - just like you are on the RideWell Tour. God be with you as you travel on down the road.
