I had a crazy dream the other night.
Stephen Colbert was there.
As were a committee of 40 some-odd people including my wife.
Our task was to figure out how to solve the world's problems.
The truth is, even in my dream we couldn't fix everything.
We had a budget.
We had to do the most good with a billion dollars.

It's strange to be on this end of a dream, the waking up end.
I'm on the closing end of a Ride:Well year and it's exactly like waking up from a dream. I'm rubbing my eyes and scratching my head while trying to put together the parts I can remember. It's all very unlike any experience I've had before and as a result I'm not entirely sure it really happened.

We pulled enough metal folding chairs into a circle and took our seats for the final team meeting of Ride:Well South 2010. This was our debriefing, at least it was supposed to be. Instead, as one after another suggested working through the events of the past two months would take at least as long. The General spoke softly but sternly, "It's time." I knew just what he meant. Still, I was hesitant. "I'm not ready." He stopped me, "It's time. People are counting on you." I informed him, "These things take time." He said, "Before we leave Red Oak you need to blog."
