Ride:Well Southern Tier Tour

The Southern Tour is a 3,300+ mile supported trip that starts on the shores of the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, C.A. and ends at the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The team will have a support vehicle that will carry the all the gear and promotional materials. Throughout the tour the team will be stopping at churches and community centers to share the vision of Blood:Water Mission and raise funds and active support for B:WM's clean water and clean blood initiatives in Africa. 2011 Trip Details:

Dates:

June 1 - July 30, 2012 (8 weeks, dates are subject to change)

Application Due:

March 15th, 2012 APPLY NOW!

Trip Cost:

$4,250, we will provide you with resources to help raise funds for your trip.

Additional Donation:

$1,000 toward the work of Blood:Water Mission, we will provide you with resources to help with fund-raising.

Challenge Level:

Difficult. (Due to the heat and terrain, this tour is our most difficult trip)

Support Level:

Supported Tour - A support vehicle and trailer will accompany the team across the country carrying your gear.

Inclusions:

We will provide experienced leaders, safety training, cycling instruction, food, accommodations, en route transportation, support vehicle, team apparel, and trip setup.

Exclusions:

We will NOT provide transportation to the starting location of your tour or from the ending location of the tour, a bicycle, cycling gear, personal items, souvenirs, etc...

The 3,300+ mile route starts at the Pacific Ocean and takes you through four mountain ranges, four time zones and 9 states across the southern United States and ends in the Atlantic Ocean.

Trip Goals:

We desire to capitalize on the momentum and interest generated from past tours to raise funds and awareness for B:WM by offering a cross-country bicycle tour that will:

  • raise $40,000+ for clean water and clean blood initiatives in Africa,
  • strengthen established community relationships from previous R:WT,
  • initiate new community relationships and support from other parts of the United States,
  • partner with our African friends to educate individuals and communities in North America about the difficult social and economic issues Africans face on a daily basis,
  • provide opportunities for B:WM advocates/supporters to participate in a B:WM campaign,
  • increase B:WM sphere of influence, donor base and social network.
